Laughter-cise

Event Type: Library Programs & Classes
Date: 1/3/2014
Start Time: 11:15 AM
End Time: 12:00 PM
Description:
Continuous short bursts of laughter produce profound physical, mental, and emotional benefits by forcing deep breathing, which increases oxygen delivery and lowers stress hormones. Research shows that one minute of continuous laughter is equal to ten minutes on a rowing machine!

Adults are programmed to laugh only as a response to a stimulus, so this class is designed to provide a safe environment for adults to experience their “inner child” and laugh unconditionally. Mrs. Bruey teaches laughter exercises that can be practiced alone or in a group to achieve these wonderful benefits.
